Description

These traditional St. Brigid’s crosses are handmade by me at my home in County Wexford, using rushes that I foraged from the surrounding countryside.

It is customary to hang them above the doors and windows of your house to protect all inside from harm.

The rushes are green when they are freshly picked, and over time as they dry out they turn to the beautiful yellowish colour that is so iconic. Once dried, they will last for years to come.
